Nottingham is a great city for Sport, and has nine high quality leisure centres, and a high performing sports development team. We have a strong track record for event delivery and an exciting “Game On” campaign, to ensure that Nottingham benefits from the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games.
As sports events officer, you will take the lead role in positioning Nottingham as a major sporting events city, strategically managing the direction and delivery of sports events in the city, and using the associated profile, to inspire more people to be more active more often.
Key focus areas include production and delivery of a 5 year event plan, delivery and commissioning of major sporting events, organising partnership ‘festivals of sport’, leading on maximising the sporting opportunities and legacy for Nottingham arising from London 2012, and the 2013 and 2015 Ashes Tests in Nottingham.
The successful candidate must have experience of developing sport and planning and delivering major events and initiatives, and understand the role and priorities of a range of sporting event partners. Excellent communication, organisational, influencing and partnership skills are essential.
Working for Nottingham in 2012 and beyond is your chance to share a moment of history.
