Test Valley Borough Council is seeking a self-motivated individual who is dynamic in their approach, with a real desire to succeed.

Your role as a Sports Development Officer will be to contribute towards the delivery of the Sport & Recreation action plan that will improve sport and physical activity participation levels within the local community.

You will work with local, regional and national partners to deliver key objectives and programmes such as the Hampshire Youth Games, sports festivals and school sport programmes. There will also be an opportunity to maximise Test Valley’s involvement in the London 2012 Olympic Games and how it links in with current local strategies.

You will have a sound knowledge of sports development, external funding opportunities, sport in schools and the wider community. Also, excellent leadership and communication skills are required with proven experience of project, event or programme management with the ability to liaise and support a number of key local partnerships.

Degree educated in leisure or sports related area, you’ll bring two years’ experience of organising activities in a similar setting.
