Are you looking for an opportunity to develop a career in sports development? If the answer is yes Runnymede Borough Council has a vacancy for a sports development officer. The post holder will be working in a small leisure development team with specific responsibility for work with local sports clubs, the County Sports Partnership, School Sports Partnerships and delivering local sports development programmes.
The successful candidate will need to have a good understanding of sport development principles and experience of organising activities. There will be a requirement to promote and market the activities on offer and make applications for external funding.
As a frontline service you should also be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and external contacts. There is a requirement to be flexible in approach to take into account the nature of the post and the need to occasionally work outside of normal office hours.
The post holder will also be expected to help with the supervision of the summer play schemes.
