We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our team of dedicated professionals, providing legal support to the Children’s and Adult’s Social Services directorates.

A qualified solicitor or barrister, you will have:

  • Experience of working as a lawyer in child protection and preferably experience of one or more of either education, or adult social care
  • Excellent advocacy skills with the ability to present cases clearly and effectively and to command the confidence of courts and tribunals etc
  • The ability to draft clear and concise statements and documents
  • A high level of integrity and sound judgement.

Central Bedfordshire Council is a new unitary authority. The Legal Services Team operates at the heart of the Council and provides legal support across the full range of the Council’s functions. Protecting vulnerable children and adults is a critical aspect of the Council’s responsibilities and staff in the Legal Services team play an important part in ensuring that the Council succeeds in delivering its priorities
