The Targeted Youth Support Team (TYST) offer day to day support to young people and their families to help prevent family breakdown, young people coming into the care of the Local Authority, being excluded from school or becoming involved in anti social behaviour and youth crime, for young people aged 8 – 17.
TYST provides a number of preventative services aimed at supporting young people and families in crisis, including mentoring , PAYP, parenting groups, restorative justice, crisis support, 121 support, group work and mediation.
The team is now looking to appoint a Qualified Social Worker to assess and support 16/17 year old homeless young people. This post will need to have a sound knowledge and understanding of housing legislation. The post holder will assess all young people aged 16/17 years old who present to Housing needs as homeless. The post holder will work closely with Housing CAMH’s and families.
