IMT provides centralised Information Management and Technology support and development for all non-school services and some partners for applications and infrastructure, with particular emphasis on implementing solutions that support the Council’s improvement and transformation programmes.
IMT manages an estate of 6,500 PCs and 1,500 mobile and laptop devices as well as a comprehensive integrated voice and data network, using both internal resources and managed services.
This position sits in the Development team within the Design and Build Group, in charge of the development of future direction for Business Objects Reporting with the focus on Social Care.
As a valued member of the IMT Design and Build team, you will be an expert in the field of business objects performance, management and financial reporting, you will take responsibility for the effective conduct of all social care reporting ICT-related matters and provide advice and consultancy both at a strategic and tactical level. You’ll lead on the technical side of projects, identify improvement opportunities and implement business solutions.
You’ll establish effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that they are equipped with the adequate support and tools to analyse council data. You’ll maintain the current portfolio of reports and analyse requirements for new reports. You’ll be a key figure in the support of the Swift social care system and in the implementation of a system to meet the Council’s ICS requirement. This is a broad and challenging role, which offers varied, non-routine and creative work and plays a crucial role in the organisation.
With a professional qualification in Business Objects or equivalent relevant BO work experience, you’ll have good organisational skills and be used to dealing with people at all levels, preferably in a performance analysis/information management role. You’ll have detailed knowledge of the Business Objects application gained through a full implementation lifecycle in a similar organisation, and extensive experience of other reporting and business intelligence tools.
You’ll also be familiar with business analysis, data warehousing, OLAP, relational databases (e.g. Oracle) and performance measurements. Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of social care applications including Swift and reporting requirements around the ICS system, but relevant training and knowledge transfer will be provided. You’ll have excellent communications and personal organisational skills, together with the ability to drive performance improvements, solve problems innovatively and design solutions via data modelling. You’ll also be committed to high standards of customer service.
An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure check will be required for this role.
