Strategic Delivery Unit, Employment and Skills Team
Bradford Council is taking a strategic lead on adult skills and employment in the District, working with its partners, with funding agencies and delivery organisations to support the Districts transformational priorities.
This new team of five will be set up in the heart of the Regeneration Department, where exciting changes are taking place to increase the effectiveness and impact of the District’s Regeneration.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can lead a new team, which is being set up to take the strategic lead on employment and skills within the District. In a fast changing environment you will lead the team and work with the Employment and Skills Board to drive forward an increase in relative performance on the economic goal of higher employment and the transformational priority of higher skill levels in the District.
Qualified to degree or equivalent in related discipline you will have at least 5 years experience at a senior level within a skills/employment strategic role
This should include 3 years experience of:-
- developing and implementing skills and employment related policy interventions.
- developing effective strategic partnerships and effecting joint working with a range of internal and external partners.
- Proven track record of effective operational and personnel management.
- advising on policy and operational issues relating to the service area.
- promoting the policies, core values and services to customers and stakeholders.
- Demonstrable achievement of equal opportunities in both employment and service delivery.
- representation at senior level – including but not limited to Elected Members, Civil Servants, MPs and Ministers.
