An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to assist the IT team in delivering a quality service to underpin the Council’s improvement programme.
The successful applicant will assist the IT Manager in supporting the Council’s existing corporate systems and IT infrastructure as well as the implementation of new systems.
You must have proven technical IT abilities and a good educational background. Experience of working in an IT support or development role is essential as is an in-depth knowledge of maintaining a network based on MS Windows operating systems. An understanding of new technologies and their potential uses and IT security issues are also an essential characteristic of the successful applicant.
In addition to your technical abilities, you will be customer focused and should possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience of maintaining, developing and troubleshooting virtual environments based on SAN technology would be desirable as would knowledge and experience of deploying and supporting Citrix thin client technology and MS SQL Server Database administration.
