Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to operational lead the well established duty and early intervention service for the Social Care Occupational Therapist Service. Provision of a high quality Occupational Therapy service in an Early Intervention Team, which is part of a centralised Occupational Therapy Service.

To apply specialist knowledge and skills in the area of fast response Occupational Therapy for people with disabilities, and to be responsible for promoting this across the borough.

Borough-wide contact for information and resources pertaining to the discharge of service users from hospital to home, and to assist the prevention of admissions to hospitals and long term care. To act as the clinical lead for the Early Intervention Team regarding manual handling risk assessment of service users within their home environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead clinical role in ensuring that high quality service provision is provided by the Early Intervention Team to users and carers with varying levels of need. Lead role in development of services within the team, contributing to policy development for the service. Carry a case load of complex disabled users. Assist team manager in operational management functions for the Early Intervention Team and deputise in their absence.

Requirements

You should be highly organised and innovative, with strong professional OT skills. You should also have experience of managing/supervising others, and sound knowledge of social care, health care, and Transformation agendas. You will be expected to lead on initiatives to respond to users needs within the changing nature of social care. A degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and HPC registration.
