This new influential role will provide high level, creative and innovative legal advice to Directors and other Senior Officers in the Council, Cabinet Members and a range of clients, including governing bodies and head teachers. A key aspect of your role will be to manage complex casework and major corporate projects, as well as managing, supporting and coaching colleagues within your team. Strong communication skills, combined with a proactive approach to meeting the needs of clients, are essential, as is an understanding of local government legislation.
You will be responsible for legal advice on a wide range of particularly complex and sensitive education and employment matters, including disciplinary matters, tribunals (both ET and SENDIST) and appeals, for both the Council and schools within the Royal Borough. You must have substantial post qualification experience and an in-depth understanding of education and employment law.
