We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible person to assist the Insurance and Risk Manager in the provision of insurance services for 16 hours per week.
The central role will be to handle a portfolio of largely self-funded liability claims within the Council’s in-house insurance scheme. You will be managing your own portfolio comprising a complex caseload. The position offers plenty of opportunity to display business and negotiating skills.
You will have experience of handling public and employer’s liability claims up to and including litigation stage, with working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and other professional and legislative developments in the insurance field. Ideally, you will have used computerised claims handling systems and be competent on Microsoft Word and Excel.
You will be educated to A-level standard, preferably with a recognised insurance qualification, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to problems.
