In this role, you will co-ordinate the Council’s budgets and medium term financial planning, monitor our performance and manage a team.
You will also manage a number of areas including treasury, insurance,
car leasing and our outsourced payroll contract.
You will have detailed knowledge of local authority finance, have a full accountancy qualification e.g. CIPFA or similar, or equivalent expertise in budget preparation, and knowledge of relevant legislation and accounting practices.
An excellent communicator, you will be able to motivate and lead a close knit team of staff and offer constructive advice and guidance on financial and budgetary matters.
You must also be able to effectively
influence, persuade and negotiate with managers and partners. Ref: FIN.025
