Newstead Children’s Centre

We are committed to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

Temporary post until March 2011

Newstead Children’s Centre is an established community resource in East Finchley, providing high quality Early Education, Health and Family Support services for children and their families.

The Centre has recently had major building works and refurbishment which has extended the opportunities offered to children, parents and the local community. The Family Support services provided by the Centre are delivered at various local venues through a ‘Hub and Spoke’ model in conjunction with multi-agency professionals.

You will lead in the co-ordination and delivery of the Family Support activities and maintaining a link between the Centre and local community. Your role will be vital in ensuring that services meet the Every Child Matters agenda and that parents have access to information, advice on education, employment, training, family support, parenting and health services including outreach.

As part of the Senior Management Team, you will supervise staff and work in partnership with parents and professional agencies to make a real difference to the lives of children and their families.

With a minimum Level 4 qualification in Early Years, you will benefit from individual supervision to support your personal and professional development.

Informal visits are welcome by arrangement. For an informal chat, please call Sajni Sharma, Head of Centre on 020 8359 3460.

Full details about the roles and rewards we have to offer can be found at www.barnet.gov.uk/barnetpossibilities

Closing date: 9 April 2010.
Interview dates: Friday, 23 and Monday, 26 April 2010.

Applications must be received by 5pm on the closing date. Late applications will not be accepted.
