We are looking to recruit a self-motivated person who is proficient in a wide range of maintenance skills and possesses a good knowledge of Health and Safety procedures. You must demonstrate good communication skills with the ability to interact positively and sensitively with a wide range of staff and visitors. You will value the importance of team-work but also have the ability to use your initiative, prioritise your workload and by adopting a “can do approach” display flexibility and versatility in undertaking a diverse range of tasks.

This post will be based at St Peters House, Broadstairs but will travel to other locations within East Kent on a regular basis.

This is very much a multi tasking role to support the District Manager deliver a first class Facilities service. After completion of relevant risk assessments the successful applicant will carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, general porterage duties and building security, in line with KCC procedures. You will be required to meet external contractors who visit the premises to ensure that they comply with the current legislation and guidelines, assist with plans to meet environmental targets, report and record faults and maintenance tasks that fall outside of your remit and ensure relevant works are completed in a timely manner.

For communication and recording purposes a knowledge of Microsoft office applications is necessary.
