Based in Andover you’ll join our small but friendly Internal Audit team providing an independent and objective assurance and consultancy activity designed to add value and improve the Council’s operations. The Internal Audit Team operates as part of a shared services arrangement with Winchester City and Havant Borough Councils therefore some planned work at these sites will be involved.

Ideally, a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) qualified to at least Practitioner level or a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) with experience of working in an internal auditing environment, you’ll conduct reviews across all Council services, make recommendations for improvements in financial control, advise managers and staff on financial regulation and control as well as carry out special investigations into financial matters.

A natural innovator, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills. You’ll be an excellent communicator and proficient in the use of Information Technology. You’ll have the ability to work on your own initiative, or as part of a team, in a responsible and professional manner.

A full driving licence and the facility to use your own car for work on planned occasions will be required.
