Senior Auditor
Full Time 36 hours per week

We currently have an opportunity within our internal audit team, which is part of our Finance & Procurement Section, providing strategic professional support to the Council, which is key to achieving our objectives and ensuring optimum service delivery.

In this role you will work as part of the audit team, undertaking the risk based systems audits and other assignments within the approved plan. You will support the Principal Auditor (Systems and Risk Management) in all elements of his role in actively contributing to the achievement of the audit team’s aims and objectives.

For this role we are seeking an auditor with significant experience of internal audit and a strong understanding of risk and control environments within local government or equivalent experience in the public or private sectors.

Although the post holder has no direct line management responsibility you will take a lead role in some audit activities and supervise other team members. The role therefore requires someone who is able to work well on their own or as part of a team. The ability to communicate, influence and motivate at all levels is therefore essential to this post.
