Basildon Borough Council is looking for an experienced and confident person to join our Parks and Grounds Maintenance team. As a Senior Arboricultural Officer you will be responsible for managing trees in the urban landscape and advising on tree-related matters elsewhere across the Borough.

You will inspect trees and offer advice to statutory bodies, taking all necessary actions to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Developing and maintaining good customer relations is essential, as is protecting the Council’s reputation. Therefore, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

You should be computer literate and have a proactive approach to working on your own or as part of a team. You will be encouraged to establish contacts with a wide range of organisations and people that have relevant links to tree related matters.

Budgeting and financial control will be an important part of this role as the post holder will manage and source funding for strategic enhancements.

Your will have the RFS Professional Diploma in Arboriculture or equivalent and be expected to undertake on-going training and professional development.

You must have the ability to travel within the Borough.
