At Havering we have established a positive Health and Safety culture within our schools and deliver a high standard of service to them.

We offer schools strategic initiatives, provide professional advice and guidance to head teachers, governors, senior managers and staff, as well as providing a comprehensive range of training.

We are looking for a highly motivated professional to play a key role in delivering this work as part of a small team working within schools and similar educational premises.

Experience of working within schools, whilst not essential, would be advantageous.

You must be a highly motivated, experienced and creative health and safety professional, who can establish credibility at a senior level, build effective working relationships and motivate others.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to meet challenging deadlines, deliver results and show a creative flare in providing solutions.

The role involves a number of tasks including supporting schools and other similar educational premises to manage health and safety, acting as lead auditor within schools, maintaining systems, policies and procedures, assessing
CDM arrangements, undertaking accident and incident investigations and leading with relevant agencies, developing and providing training, and involvement in the first line approval of educational visits.

A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent together with demonstrable experience as a health and safety advisor ganied within a multisite environemnt where working largely under own autonomy is required.

A sound knowledge of current health and safety legislation is essential, together with excellent team working and presentation skills.
