North East Lincolnshire Council is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative School Workforce Development Advisor to develop and deliver the vision for the effective professional development of all staff who work in schools. The aim is to deliver national initiatives promoted through the TDA to achieve the Government’s vision of a 21st Century School. Working within the Children’s and Schools Workforce Development team. This advisory post offers an exciting opportunity to develop flexible and creative solutions to secure a highly skilled and motivated workforce that enables children and young people to achieve the best outcomes possible.
You will work with schools and the authority to address cultural and practical issues and ensure that all members of the schools workforce are valued for their contribution and are included in effective professional development plans and performance review processes. You will be expected to work with other Council teams delivering training to schools and networking and joint delivery with neighbouring Councils will also be essential. You will know how to develop a strategic plan and ensure the delivery of a range of training and development activities and you will understand how the professional development of support staff can contribute to raising standards in schools. You will take responsibility for supporting the Schools Workforce Modernisation Group and for effective communications with schools, and will contribute to the CPD website and the production of a CPD newsletter.
You should have experience of working with schools or in a school environment, be an effective communicator, emotionally intelligent, self-motivated, well organised, and able to gain credibility with schools. You will liaise with CPD co-ordinators in schools, liaise with the TDA and regional colleagues, keep schools up to date with the availability of high quality training for support staff, and take responsibility for disseminating best practice.
