Following initial recruitment, an exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a second Mental Health Safeguarding Adult Coordinator post. This will be within the new directorate of Family and Social Care Learning Disability/Mental Health. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the Adult Protection process and will be expected to develop, support and monitor good practice. You will provide expert advice to colleagues in community recovery services in Eastern and Coastal Kent; you will link with the Safeguarding Adult Co-ordinator for West Kent and Forensic Services, the KMPT safeguarding team, and other key agencies regarding safeguarding adults.
You must be able to chair multi agency case conferences and work collaboratively with a number of partner agencies. You will be expected to undertake complex investigations and also work proactively with other agencies to develop their learning of Adult Protection.
You will need to have a minimum of two years Social Work, Nursing or Occupational Therapy post registration experience. This will include complex casework, and an excellent understanding of the Adult Protection Process and the Legal Framework.
A good understanding of the Mental Health Act will be required.
You will work as part of a small team and also network with other Safeguarding Adult Coordinators across the county.
