6 months – fixed term contract to start October 2010.
Part-time 18 hours per week
Sleeping in allowance is payable in addition + 2 increments on salary for working 10% of the working week at weekends.
Abury House, Aldborough Road North
Abury House is a Supporting People Unit with 9 residents with enduring mental health problems. We also support 12 other residents with mental health issues in the form of outreach. We are looking for an applicant with the following:
You should have NVQ Level 3 Promoting Independence or be willing to undertake training and recent experience as a Support Officer in a residential establishment for mental health.
You will also need:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to user and carer involvement in service delivery where appropriate.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and also as part of a team.
- The ability to deal with a range of administrative tasks including basic IT knowledge, giving clear concise reports and giving feedback.
- The ability to work shifts according to Rota, unsociable hours / sleep- ins and weekends on a regular basis.
- Be able to carry out outreach work as and when required.
Interviews will be held on 15 October 2010 .
