As a teacher in Children’s Service REMA (Race Equality & Minority Achievement), you will work within the Ethnic & Language Minority Support (ELMS) team.
You will support the delivery of a high quality service to children and young people from minority ethnic/language communities, contributing to the outcomes of Every Child Matters.
In your role as ELMS Teacher, you will work to enable schools to raise the attainment of ethnic/language minority pupils, promote inclusive practices, recognise and value diversity and implement race equality.
You will be a good communicator who can work collaboratively and have the ability to inspire and motivate other professionals. You will be able to work with others and independently, as well as have the ability to promote a culture which supports diversity and equality.
Educated to degree level, you will be a qualified teacher with experience of working with children from ethnic/language minority communities. You will be well-informed about national initiatives in the raising of achievement for children and young people from minority communities.
This post will be filled on a temporary basis until 31 March 2009 but there may be an opportunity for permanent posts to become available.
