Do you want to make a difference to a disabled child or young person’s life?

If so, read on.
We have ongoing opportunities for Community Support Workers across the county.
These relief positions offer you the chance to work as many or as few hours as you would like. You will gain new skills and experiences and this can be achieved alongside your family, work or studying commitments.
This is an established and growing service, offering support to disabled children, young people and their families. We are highly supportive, creative and dynamic and constantly seeking opportunities to develop and improve services.
With a range of skills in supporting disabled children and young people, from providing assistance with personal care to managing challenging behavior needs, you will also have the ability to be flexible enough to provide support to children and young people within the community or within their own home.
You will have plenty of energy and be really motivated with a child-centered and inclusive approach to your work with disabled children and young people. You will promote a creative way of working to encourage access to a variety of activities to meet individual needs. The support is largely required in the evenings and at weekends usually on a 1:1 basis, just a few hours at these times can make all the difference.
The service is aimed at encouraging and promoting the independence and self-confidence of the disabled child and plays a key part in assessing and managing risk in relation to the care of disabled children.
If you feel that you will be able to communicate at all levels and have a flexible and creative approach to your workload then we would like to hear from you.

Ideally, you will need an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in social care or be willing to work toward this qualification. You will have experience of working with disabled children and their families or a genuine interest in this line of work as full training, induction and support is provided.
This is an ongoing recruitment campaign therefore interviews will be held regularly.

Feel free to give us a call to talk about the role in more detail on 01480 376476 or e-mail .
