You will work within a small, office based team of Recovery Officers responsible for the collection of post summons council tax and business rates. Duties include working to a strict recovery timetable, obtaining liability orders, making and monitoring arrangements, instructing bailiffs, preparing attachments to earnings or benefits. You will also attend the Magistrate’s Court in a supporting role. The role will require you to sensitively handle customer enquiries face to face and over the telephone and in writing.
Candidates must be computer literate, with Microsoft Office skills and should be educated to A level or equivalent standard. Knowledge of the Northgate I-world system would be an advantage. You will be a good communicator and have previous experience in a debt recovery environment. Successful applicants will ideally have worked in a similar role and have a working knowledge of relevant legislation and enjoy working to strict deadlines in a performance focused environment.
