Are you looking for the opportunity to work in social care, in a role, which offers high levels of satisfaction and the possibility to develop a career within the wider Intermediate Care Service? **

The Reablement Service provides physical and emotional support to enable vulnerable people to regain & maintain their independence, remaining in their own homes. The focus of the service is enablement, with staff working ‘with’ and not ‘for’ service users. **

We will look to you to encourage, enable and support very vulnerable service users who are recovering from an episode or crisis in their life. This will involve working with Reablement Care Workers & other members of the Intermediate Care Team to support service users back to maximum health by helping them to regain, improve and maintain skills of daily living, promoting maximum independence whilst always treating them with dignity and respect.

You will need to hold or be working towards gaining NVQ level 2 in care along with suitable literacy and numeracy skills. Due to the nature of this role you will need to be physically flexible and fit to assist with bathing, transferring users in and out of bed, from bed to chair and sit to stand.

A full driving licence and car, or equivalent mobility, plus a CRB disclosure will be required.

Closing date: 13 th September 2010
