Burnley is a town with an industrious past, a premiership football team set in stunning Pennine countryside. The Council and its partners have ambitious plans for the future of the town with the first phase of development, including new schools, housing and a university campus, well underway. We are seeking a team of professionals to work in our newly formed Economic Regeneration and Business Support Unit to lead on key projects.
Principle Development Officer – Grade 13
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the development and implementation of key projects identified in Burnley’s Economic Vision Strategy. The role will involve managing a small team working with private and public sector partners to develop a wide range of initiatives including the Town Centre Master Plan and Enterprise Park projects.
We are seeking someone with experience in developing and delivering regeneration schemes. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, partnership, project management and organisational skills as well as the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems. This post is funded until March 2014.
This is a Politically Restricted Post within the meaning of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
Development Officer – Grade 11
The Development Officer will work as part of a team on the development of key regeneration projects from concept to implementation. The candidate will have experience of developing and testing project ideas as well as working in a multi-disciplinary environment. Funded until March 2011.
This is a Politically Restricted Post within the meaning of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
Research and information Officer – Grade 8
The post holder will work closely with the strategy and development teams providing information and intelligence to inform strategy and project development. The post holder will have experience of collating and analysing economic data in a regeneration and economic development context. Funded until March 2011.
