Reading has recently been awarded two stars from the Audit Commission and is committed to working with our residents to tackle anti-social behaviour.
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused person with a genuine interest in housing to join our team and help us deliver an excellent housing service.
You will be leading a specialist team of three nuisance response officers and be responsible for helping to develop and implement our anti-social behaviour strategy and ensuring our service delivers practical solutions to problems of anti-social behaviour as well as taking cases to court. In addition, you will be managing three advice shops operated by the council.
You will have:
• a good knowledge of relevant housing legislation
• knowledge of anti-social behaviour procedures in a housing context and an understanding of the problems experienced by our residents
• the ability to deliver a multi-agency approach to problem solving and to maintain close links with partner organisations to deal swiftly and effectively with anti-social behaviour
• excellent interpersonal, literacy and IT skills
• excellent health and safety awareness
• the willingness to work evenings and weekends on occasion as part of a team providing a flexible and responsive service
• the ability to achieve objectives to meet the service aims
• the ability to operate at a strategic level and contribute to policy development
• strong leadership skills.
