We’re committed to providing affordable, good quality accommodation for people in our borough. It’s an ongoing challenge that calls for partnerships with a broad range of housing providers – which you will develop. Working with these partners, you will identify patterns of housing demand and create new schemes to cater for them. Meanwhile, you’ll also acquire new temporary accommodation, (often via private housing providers) and manage our Affordable Ownership scheme.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be negotiating frequently and acting as our representative. Relevant knowledge is important too – procurement processes, the housing benefit system, housing allocation policies and key legislation. By building strong relationships, you’ll see that we have homes for everyone who needs them.
