The Schools Library Service is looking to appoint a librarian to work in primary schools. The ideal person will want to work part time ( from 10 to 21 hours a week), have a strong vision of how to ensure a primary school library contributes to raising standards in schools and be very well versed in all aspects of managing, developing and promoting a school library, including running a computerised library system, cataloguing and classifying. He or she will enjoy variety and challenge, be creative, be an extremely effective communicator and be able to work in up to three schools around Tower Hamlets, as well as spend some time working at the Schools Library Service. Hours and number of schools can be discussed.
