The council have a temporary vacancy within the Post and Scanning team. The role involves dealing with every aspect of all incoming and outgoing post and the scanning of documents on to the electronic document management system. The incoming post is sorted, opened and delivered throughout the council within a confidential and secure environment. Post is despatched using standard, recorded and special delivery services. The work is time critical and the environment always busy. All Post and Scanning policies and procedures must adhere to audit and legislative requirements.

Previous experience in a busy post room with good knowledge of Royal Mail services and electronic document processing is essential. Confidentiality, excellent attention to detail, IT literacy together with the ability to work as part of a busy team, work on your own initiative, be a good communicator and prioritise work effectively are essential skills. A good standard of general education to include GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) and a NVQ level 2 in Customer Service are desirable.
