The policy and strategy team is a new team responsible for leading strategic development across the Council’s health, adult social care and homelessness functions. We are working on a number of projects from mental health and older people, to employment, to third sector commissioning to youth homelessness. We work across a range of partnerships – in particular with the NHS on the borough’s Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and on the integration of commissioning and community services.
Adults Health and Wellbeing is pursuing a far-reaching programme of public service reform, transforming social care and making personalisation a reality for many of the borough’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged residents. All of the directorate’s services are recognised for excellence, with an ambitious plan in place for the year ahead.
Can you help us shape our services and direction by providing policy and strategic leadership? In particular, you will help oversee the joint strategic needs assessment, working with our partners in Children’s Services and NHS Tower Hamlets. You will also manage a research officer, and play a key part in all the team’s responsibilities including strategic development and delivery, supporting the transforming social care programme, equalities and business planning.
Equal Opportunities
We shall ensure fairness and equal opportunities throughout our workforce and in service delivery. We welcome applications from suitably skilled candidates regardless of ethnicity, gender, disability, sexuality, religion or age.
