Location This position is located in the Letchworth Garden City in North Hertfordshire. North Hertfordshire is located less than 40 miles from central London, is a predominantly rural district and contains interesting market towns and several picturesque villages. The District is an attractive area in which to live and work.

Do you want to help provide children and young people with opportunities to access quality play opportunities?

NHDC has a number of exciting opportunities to join the Children’s Services Team to develop and deliver play opportunities to Children and Young People. We provide a number of term time out of school play projects as well as holiday Play Rangers programmes.

Successful applicants will have experience of:

  • Supporting children and young people aged 4 years and above
  • Working within a play environment
  • Working in a team

Level 2 or 3 playwork qualifications or equivalent are required for deputies and leaders.

You also needs endless enthusiasm and a love of working outdoors.

Hours are varied with no guarantee of regular working hours. However we are particularly keen to hear from people who would like work during school holidays or one or two days a week in after school play projects. We have projects running in Royston, Baldock, Letchworth Garden City, Hitchin and many of the surrounding villages.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1984. Applicants are therefore required to declare any convictions or cautions even if they would otherwise be regarded as ‘spent’ under this act. Any offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.
