• Early years education integrated with childcare
• Family support and outreach services
• Health services
• Links with Job Centre Plus and training providers

The Children’s Centres are hubs for services for children under five and their families. The Local Authority is working in partnership with the Primary Care Trust, Job Centre Plus and voluntary sector partners to develop a network of Children’s Centres. There are currently 20 centres with a total of 24 expected by the end of 2010. The development of these centres provide an exciting opportunity to make a difference to the outcomes for young children in one of the most disadvantaged areas of the country, but one which has very high aspirations for all children.
