Waveney District has an exciting and challenging future. Situated on the coast in north-east Suffolk, it is a diverse area, offering opportunities to work on a wide variety of both urban and rural issues whilst benefiting from an attractive living and working environment. Lowestoft, the main town, is the subject of much regeneration activity. 1st East Urban Regeneration Company (URC), are working in partnership to transform the heart of the town, providing opportunities to get involved in a dynamic and changing environment. We share a joint Head of Planning with Suffolk Coastal District Council and collaboration with adjoining local authorities offers additional opportunities to develop your career.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Planner to primarily work on the Local Development Framework. The Core Strategy was adopted in January this year and good progress is being made on the other documents. If you are a planner looking to broaden your career in a diverse district, are enthusiastic, think creatively, have excellent communication skills but most importantly are capable of working in a team, then this could be the opportunity you have been looking for. You must be educated to degree level and have an appropriate professional qualification recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute.

- Salary quoted is Job Evaluation and pay award pending. A Market Supplement of £1,500 is included and is subject to an annual review, and the relocation package is subject to terms.
