Due to the secondment of the current postholder, an opportunity has arisen for a temporary Personnel Manager.
This is a key role providing generalist advice to all staff. You will have particular responsibilities for employee relations issues, although you will be involved in all areas of the personnel work including the planned implementation of a new computerised Personnel and Payroll system and our new competency based training programme. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills knowledge and experience to a higher level.
You are likely to be a graduate, qualified to MCIPD level, with experience, preferably in Local Government. You will be an enthusiastic, highly motivated person capable of communicating effectively at all levels within the Council. You must be able to demonstrate that you have a thorough working knowledge of employment law, and codes of practice.
We would also consider applications from candidates seeking a temporary secondment from their current employer.
For an informal discussion about the post, you can contact Caroline Hall, Head of Personnel on 01372 474212.
Please note that we do not accept CV’s without an application form.
