Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council prides itself on putting Customers first when it comes to service delivery. Following the successful externalisation to the private sector of the Housing Repairs and Maintenance Service in November 2010 and the subsequent reintegration of the ALMO back into the Council in July 2011 we are now seeking to strengthen our service delivery team. We are look to appoint a Partnering Manager to work with our Contract Partners in delivering the Repairs and Maintenance Service to C21,000 properties across the borough of Rotherham. This challenging role within our recently restructured Contract and Service Development Team will be responsible for the management and delivery of responsive, planned and capital repairs programmes to the council’s social housing stock.

Working with a small team of technical officers and support staff you’ll be focused on providing an excellent customer-focused maintenance service to all our tenants. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated property professional, preferably with a background in social housing repairs. An extensive knowledge of partnership working and contract management along with professional membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent is essential. You will also have an in-depth knowledge of building, housing maintenance and tenancy matters and experience of managing large budgets. You’ll also be required to hold a full UK drivers licence, and preferably have access to a vehicle.

Appointment will be subject to the Council obtaining a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau. Further information about the disclosure scheme can be found at www.direct.gov.uk

Applications from Women, people from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities and Disabled People are welcomed as under-representation currently exists at this level within the organisation. Section 159 of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

Effective from 1/4/2011 for 1 year there is a 1.15% temporary reduction from the advertised substantive salary as quoted and a temporary postponement of any annual increments.

Closing date: 17 February 2012
