Role Purpose
We are looking to recruit a Participation Worker who will provide and create opportunities for children and young people to inform and shape our children’s social work services and informing them about the outcomes of consultation activities, including further actions that will be taken.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for contributing to the development and methods, strategies and techniques to motivate and communicate with young people to ensure maximum engagement with the service.
They will represent the participation service in any meetings arising from the needs of children and young people.
Requirements
This role requires the ability to be able to liaise effectively with children and young people and other professionals using a range of communication techniques. You will be degree level qualified or equivalent, or have demonstrable experience of working with children looked after and care leavers. You will have a solid understanding of up-to-date policy and procedures relevant to Looked After children and young people and their families and carers (Children Act 1989 & Children Leaving Care Act 2001) and considerable knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people.You must be able to work evenings and weekends plus residential activities.
