If you’d like to develop your career in the field of youth inclusion, add your skills to Raven. Building communities as well as providing housing, we’re committed to giving young people a voice of their own – providing them with new and exciting opportunities, encouraging learning and building confidence.

This is a new area for us – and in this equally new role, you’ll be key to its successful delivery. Taking a hands-on approach, you’ll help to deliver our Children & Young People’s Strategy across our region, empowering young people to develop their social lives and skills through a range of events and activities.

You’ll work to a clear delivery plan, focusing on measurable outcomes as you build strong relationships at all levels – with colleagues, community stakeholders, partner organisations and young people themselves. One third of your time will be focused purely on the area of Merstham, which is a priority area for Surrey County Council who have part funded this post. You’ll also attract funding from outside sources, and facilitate the development of a Raven Youth Forum.

Throughout your work, you’ll keep up-to-date with youth inclusion and community cohesion issues, ensuring that we’re meeting the highest standards of good practice.

Having previously delivered effective community activities and projects for young people, you’ll be used to empowering, involving and consulting under-19s, managing budgets and liaising with external partners. You’ll also need impressive presentation skills and a track record of successfully bidding for external funding.

Self-motivated and with plenty of initiative, you’ll have an enhanced CRB Clearance, your own car, and the ability to work flexible hours including Fridays, some evenings and weekends.

Closing Date: Wednesday 17th March 2010
