Medway Adult and Community Learning Service

Medway Adult and Community Learning Service, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced ESOL specialist to join our Skills for Life Team. Our ESOL provision, which has a Grade 2 from a recent Ofsted inspection, forms a very large part of the curriculum offer and includes discrete, family language and workplace provision offered at main centres and in the community at a range of venues. Additional opportunities may arise as we are actively pursuing growth in this area. If you are dynamic, versatile, experienced and a genuinely person-centred tutor, we want to hear from you. You will need to be:

· Able to work across the whole Medway area including a range of community venues
· Prepared to work daytime, twilight, evenings and occasional Saturdays as required
· Experienced in teaching Skills for Life ESOL and working with adult learners
· Working towards or achieved L4/5 ESOL Subject Specialism
· Qualified to teach adults. If you do not hold a Cert Ed, DTLLS or PTLLS, you must be prepared to start on a training course at the first available opportunity within your employment and definitely within the first year

MACLS is committed to the National Skills for Life Strategy and operates a whole organisation approach to it. All staff are expected to have personal competence in English and Maths at Level 2. If you do not currently have evidence of achievement at this level, we will support successful appointees to undertake the Adult Literacy and Numeracy qualifications within the first year of working for us.

Any offer of employment for this post will be subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure and personal references.
