Tyldesley Primary School is looking to appoint an Outreach Play Worker. This post will be specifically to work with parents/carers and their children, 0-5’s providers and other agencies to ensure relevant families are accessing a wide range of community services and receiving appropriate support.   The successful candidate must: have good communication skills have good listening skills be able to work as part of a team be prepared to work closely with families in their home environment have experience of working in the community and with families with young children.  The successful applicant will ideally have experience of multi-agency working and working with families to reduce inequalities in outcomes for disadvantaged children. The applicant must be able to identify needs of families and individuals and support the families to overcome barriers and engage with services.   The main duties of the role will involve identifying families with additional needs and supporting them to access appropriate services in the community, with a key focus being on families who fall within targeted groups.    Application forms are available from the website: www.tyldesley.wigan.sch.uk and are returnable to Yvonne Brown – Headteacher, Strategic Manager at Tyldesley Primary School, Ennerdale Road, Astley, Tyldesley, Manchester, M29 7PY or e-mail:  Tel: 01942 882870.   Shortlisting date: Friday 17 February 2012.   Interview date: Wednesday 29 February 2012.   This post is subject to Enhanced Disclosure Procedures.   Wigan Council and the School Governing Body are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
