1.2 MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To liaise with colleagues to deliver learning opportunities to support the NVQ programme and to promote NVQ’s internally and also with external agencies.

1.3 POSITION IN ORGANISATION
Position of immediate supervisor:
Title: Learning and Development Manager

1.4 MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

(1) To monitor progress of candidates and assessors to minimise time on programme completion, ensure quality assessment and to complete all documentation in accordance with awarding body requirements. To report potential risks to Specialist Learning and Development Manager and to take action as necessary to resolve.

(2) Prepare accurate progress reports on candidates for quarterly meetings with major employers and attend meetings with Programme Manager and/or section head.

(3) To liaise with awarding body for established provision and be lead Internal Verifier for all Health and Social Care raising issues with Programme Manager or Section Head as necessary.

(4) Manage, appraise and action plan as necessary with managers to ensure staff have CPD opportunities, observation of practice, current occupational competence identifying any outstanding training needs.

(5) Attend relevant standardisation meetings.

(6) Ensure sufficient monitoring of assessor time and the quality of planning, addressing issues with assessors and raising concerns with Programme Manager and/or section head.

(7) Ensure all new candidates receive appropriate introduction to NVQ, either in groups or as individuals.

(8) Manage personal caseload of assessing and Internal Verifying.

(9) Give information on funding streams for NVQ to learners and to advise managers on suitability of NVQ for individuals and the requirements.

(10) Develop the use of and resources needed for NVQs

(11) Ensure that candidates have fair and equal access to assessment including giving feedback

(12) Interpreting the standards and identifying valid and sufficient evidence for each element, Identifying gaps in achievement

(13) Teach on workshops as required

(14) Promote the work of the Learning and Development Team
