Monitoring and Support Officer (Carbon Emission)

The need to protect the environment and promote sustainability are big concerns of the communities we serve and therefore are major priorities in the council’s Community and Corporate Strategies.
Improving our performance requires changes in behaviour and in the way our services work. We need to influence individual behaviour as well as organisational behaviour, culture and working practices. Environment and Culture have achieved and retained certification to ISO14001; however there is still a long way to go across the Council.

We are now strengthening our Environmental Projects and Policy team to take on this challenge and we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed officer to inspire and motivate other council services and the community to make sustainability central to all they do. In addition, you will be working with our main contractors, schools and transport services collecting data and analysing the results. You will also be working with the members of the Brent Sustainability Forum and helping them to deliver their projects.

The successful applicant for the post of Monitoring and Support Office (Carbon Emission) will have:

- Experience of corporate working in a large organisation with a wide range of services in relation to data collection and analysis

- Ability to plan effectively, identifying the tasks required for their delivery, set deadlines and to monitor and manage competing demands to meet deadlines

- Excellent computer literacy and IT skills
