This is an exciting time to work for the Marketing and Communications Team at Basildon District Council. The Basildon District is undergoing an enormous amount of change with investment taking place. The Council will be involved in improving residents satisfaction and helping to strengthen the local economy. You will be at the forefront delivering communications to Council employees, residents and businesses to ensure they are abreast of changes. The Team will communicate the positive results achieved by the Council and raise awareness across the region and UK. The Department has undergone a major reorganisation creating a number of new posts, including Marketing and Events Officer.

You will develop an annual events programme across the Council, which may include managing and coordinating events on the day. With excellent planning and organisational skills you will manage a number of annual marketing campaigns. With creative flair you will develop the content of the community television service.

You will hold a degree in Marketing or Event Management or have the relevant equivalent experience. It is essential that you have experience of event management, promotion and campaign work.

You will be willing to travel in order to meet the needs of the service and have the flexibility to attend meetings outside of the normal office hours as required.
