Fixed Term for 48 months
To provide a comprehensive welfare benefits and advice support for service users, their families/carers accessing ‘during and end of life’ care services.
To liaise with public agencies, Department of Work & Pensions, Jobcentre Plus Offices, HM Revenues & Customs and other departments within the Local Authority and NHS Organisations.
To work in partnership with representatives from Macmillan Cancer Support to enhance and review service delivery and to share good practice.
Person Specification:
You will have/ be:
GCSE Maths & English (A-C) or equivalent
Advanced assessment skills to undertake the role of first contact and assessment.
Evidence of a good understanding of a wide range of health and social benefits, together with an understanding of key legislation surrounding Welfare Benefits and Welfare Reform.
Demonstrable experience of working within in a welfare benefits/advisory environment
Empathy with people affected by loss, death or bereavement
A Full Driving Licence
An ability to analyse and interpret legislation for service users and staff
Competent IT skills using Microsoft Office
Demonstrable experience of Care Director and Social Services Raise System (Desirable)
The ability to use the most appropriate style and method of communication with people at different levels inside and outside of the organization.
Demonstrable experience of thoroughly analyzing information, and considering alternative solutions, adapting to new ways of working where necessary together with experience of contributing to change and listening to new ideas.
The ability to manage time effectively, planning own workload and setting appropriate objectives and deadlines.
An ability to demonstrate a wide understanding of customer needs and being able to manage their expectations together with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of how teams work with other services and takes a proactive approach towards helping others.
Demonstrable experience of coping well under pressure and difficult situations, able to identify and act on own development needs.
