A vacancy exists for a solicitor or barrister within the Litigation Section of the Legal Services Division.
We are looking for someone who is hard working and enthusiastic with the necessary skills and initiative to work in our busy and committed team of lawyers. As a team, we act for all departments within the Council which lead to a varied and interesting caseload. Instructions are received from such client departments as Residents Services, Environment, Corporate Anti Fraud as well as from the Council’s ALMO, H&F Homes.
You will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of court procedures and the law relating to civil and criminal litigation. Knowledge of housing legislation and of local authority prosecutions with previous experience of working for a local authority legal team would be welcome but is not essential.
Recently qualified solicitors/barristers will be considered and the salary within the above range will reflect your experience and knowledge.
You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to work as part of our busy team and possess sound verbal and written communication skills, along with an ability to develop and use information technology in relation to the litigation process.
