We are seeking to recruit several enthusiastic, hard working team players who are committed to customer care and who understand the role books and information play in our society.

As a member of frontline library staff, the majority of your work will involve customer service, receiving and issuing books and other items, helping customers with the public-access computers and a range of clerical duties

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential and you should be educated to GCSE level and hold basic numeracy skills.

You need to be able to deal with customers in all kinds of situations and will be expected to promote a positive image of the Library Service at all times.
You be able to evidence experience of working with the public in either a voluntary or paid capacity.

You will join a team at one of our libraries, but you may be required to work at any library in the borough at times, so a flexible approach to work is essential..

Previous library experience would be advantageous, although full training will be given.
