If you enjoy meeting people as much as you enjoy reading and talking about books, this is the perfect role for you. The successful applicant will be required to work at both Mertham and Reigate Libraries

9 hours per week (two week rota)

As well as replacing stock on the shelves and keeping the library in good order, the job involves using the library computer system to control the circulation of library stock and give information.

Good computer skills in packages such as MS office will be important, along with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards training and personal development from induction onwards. You must be willing to participate in the delivery of rhymetime and story sessions for children.

With Merstham library open 18.5 hrs per week, and Reigate Library open 35.5 hrs per week, staff may be asked to change work patterns to cover for sickness etc including occassional extra Saturdays,so you will also need a flexible approach. Literate, numerate and able to work under pressure, you must also be a good team player and, above all, committed to delivering high quality customer care.
