Handling a challenging caseload predominantly in the sphere of social care debt recovery, as well as assisting with general civil litigation matters, this is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic team lawyer to play an influential role in the provision of our litigation and debt recovery services and develop their existing advocacy experience.

Handling debt recovery and general civil litigation matters on behalf of all the Council’s services, you will enjoy a varied and interesting caseload, from inception through to enforcement, including pursuing alternatives to litigation where appropriate. The role will largely involve you in social care debt recovery claims, as well as the opportunity to assist with general civil litigation matters in the sphere of property, landlord and tenant, contractual and regulatory disputes.

You will have exposure to the full breadth of the council’s operations and be keen to develop your appreciation for the potential sensitivity of your work. An understanding of local government and existing advocacy experience would be an advantage.

You will bring a wide range of litigation experience, be familiar with civil enforcement procedures, and must be ready to assist senior lawyers in the provision of the wider range of the Council’s general litigation services.
