Do you enjoy resolving land drainage and flooding problems and wish to make a significant impact to the residents and businesses of the Cotswolds? If so you may be the person we are looking for to be part of a small team undertaking the Council’s land drainage and flood defence responsibilities.

Since the Cotswold’s was severely hit by the July 2007 floods, we have been working hard to provide a robust response to recovery. Having appointed a Land Drainage Engineer to land drainage projects throughout the district we are now seeking a qualified land drainage technician to support, resolve and complete this work.

You must have obtained an appropriate Engineering/Scientific qualification at HNC/HND level (Qualifications may be substituted by extensive experience) and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of dealing with the general public.

You will be expected to carry out investigations into drainage and flood related problems and prepare reports. You will assist the Land Drainage Engineer in facilitating and preparing documents for procurement by tendering of all work and contracts necessary to carry out the agreed improvements. You will also carry out land drainage inspections and supervision of land drainage and flood defences. Liaison with Town and Parish Councils, contact with riparian owners and working collaboratively with the Councils Community Resilience Team will be required.
