Hours: 12 Hours p/week

The EC1 Music Project provides children and young people from across the Borough of Islington with a comprehensive range of opportunities for practical involvement in creative media and arts. The project forms partnerships with local schools and agencies to foster a commitment to young people that promotes their engagement in learning, social friendships, strong interpersonal skills and a sense of hope in their futures.

The ethos of the staff team of both qualified teachers and youth workers is that young people must be in a caring inclusive learning environment to promote their best efforts and to reinforce a culture of mutual respect. Over the past seven years, qualified youth workers and industry tutors have assisted and supported hundreds young people through a range of activities, events, workshops and courses in creative media and arts, whilst embedding personal and social developmental education; helping them to make informed choices about their future whilst often gaining accreditation.

The EC1 Music Project aims to inspire and engage young minds and enable both individuals and groups to truly release their creativity. The project is able to do this by utilising high quality resources in a range of settings such as schools, colleges, youth centres and of course the EC1 Music Project’s own building, which houses a music recording studio, dance studio, DJ tuition suite, Apple Mac computer suite and more

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified experienced English Teacher to provide opportunities for English GCSE learning, ensuring the acquisition of new skills, producing the highest standards of achievement and ensuring that all students develop their knowledge, understanding, skills and abilities within a supportive, creative and motivating environment.

You will provide class based sessions in KS4 English GCSE as part of the Alternative Provision curriculum. Ensuring every student has access to appropriately challenging and stimulating teaching and learning resources.

You will need over 2 years experience of good classroom practice and well developed skills in engaging challenging young people.

You will be prepared to work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends and school holidays if required.

These posts require an enhanced CRB disclosure.
